Marion Scher is an award-winning journalist, author, and one of South Africa’s leading media consultants and trainers with over 30 years of experience across radio, television, print, and online platforms.
She offers tailored media and communication training for clients in journalism, public relations, and corporate sectors—covering topics from media interviews to crisis communication. Marion has authored two acclaimed books on these topics: Surviving the SA Media and Conquering Communications in Organisations – the Digital Way.
A pioneer in online journalism, she helped launch EWN and eNCA’s digital news teams and has trained journalists across various media outlets. Her corporate clients include major organisations like Unilever, MTN, Telkom, ABSA, Old Mutual, Anglo Gold Ashanti, Sanparks, Cape Town Mayoral Committee, Pfizer, Dimension Data and Discovery Health.
In 2005, she received the prestigious Rosalynn Carter Mental Health Journalism Fellowship and in 2006 was chosen by President Jimmy Carter to present her project to The Carter Center’s funders.
Passionate about writing, Marion has authored/ghostwritten 13 books, with the last 3 reaching the Exclusive Books bestseller and recommended books list. She also crafts speeches and coaches top executives on their presentation.
She has for many years served as Chairperson of SANParks Kudu Awards and judges several other media awards.
